I’m not a photographer. I know this for certain because today I brought my camera to capture our community Canada Day celebration, the one event our friends and neighbours make an effort to attend every year, and I forgot to take pictures.
It was warm Thursday evening and the May long weekend was ahead of us. My friend Lisa and I were enjoying a glass of wine while sitting on the deck looking out at Maple Bay and watching our girls playing together in the yard down below. That serenity changed the instant I noticed my four-year-old middle child, Clodagh, was missing.
Walking up to the All Candidates meeting last night at the fire hall in Maple Bay, I said to my friend Heather, “There are 22 candidates in total, and I bet there will be 22 people in the audience.” Was I wrong. (more…)
We have had the most ridiculous month. The usual things (sick kids) plus a few less usual things (broken finger, bad back) were put into perspective when we got an early morning call from the mister’s family in the UK: his dad passed away. (more…)
